Semtech GS12241 UHD-SDI Adaptive Cable Equalizer
Semtech GS12241 Ultra High Definition (UHD)-Serial Digital Interface (SDI) Adaptive Cable Equalizer is a low-power, multi-rate retiming device. This Semtech equalizer supports data rates up to 12Gbps and features 75Ω input interface with on-chip termination. The GS12241 equalizer is designed to equalize and restore signals received over 80Ω coaxial cable. This equalizer compensates for DC content of Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) pathological signals and re-time the incoming data.
The GS12241 equalizer features integrated eye monitor which provides a non-disruptive mission mode analysis of the post-equalized input signal. This equalizer provides trace drivers that have highly configurable pre-emphasis and swing controls to compensate for connector losses. The 256 x 128 resolution scan matrix allows accurate signal analysis and the built-in macros enable customizable cross-section analysis. The GS12241 equalizer finds its applications in next-generation 12G UHD-SDI infrastructures designed to support UHDTV1, UHDTV2, 3D/2D High Frame Rate (HFR), and High Dynamic Range (HDR) production image formats.
